Mayor of London and London Assembly Members

Don't miss my last People's Question Time

12 February 2016

Boris Johnson MP invites Londoners to PQT Croydon on 3 March, his last as London’s Mayor…

Hi folks, I’d like to talk about People’s Question Time. People's Question Time happens twice a year in a different part of London. It’s a chance for Londoners to ask myself and the 25 members of the London Assembly about what matters to them in London.

In my eight years as Mayor, I’ve visited almost every corner of our great city for People's Question Time events. I must say I’ve relished these opportunities to partake in what is always a stimulating and lively public discussion. It really is fantastic to hear directly from the people of London. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the cut and thrust of debate with the Assembly too.

The next People's Question Time will take place on 3 March in Croydon, Surrey. Sadly, this will be my last, as London will have a new Mayor by the time the next People's Question Time happens in November.

If you’re planning on coming to the event, we will be discussing topics that affect everyone in London, like housing, transport and London’s environment. I’ll also be talking about some of the work I’ve been doing to make Croydon a better place to live and work. Since 2011, I’ve invested £70m to reinvigorate the town centre. That means everything from improving public spaces and smartening up high, to support for business and better transport links. Croydon is also one of London’s ‘opportunity areas’. As such, it will soon host thousands of new affordable homes, commercial and other development.

You can read more about my work in Croydon in the new ‘in my area’ section of our website.

Other positive signs for Croydon include the £1bn redevelopment of the Whitgift and Centrale shopping centres and the arrival of BOXPARK, the pop-up shopping mall. I’d be interested to hear what locals think of all these changes and more.

So if you’ve got a question about Croydon’s regeneration, transport, housing, or any other aspect of life in London, come and ask us on 3 March. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
