Africa on the Square 2018
Africa on the Square returns to Trafalgar Square for the fourth time on Saturday 27 October.
This popular event continues to grow, with over 25,000 attending last year. It celebrates African arts and culture, as well as enhancing Black History Month.
We'll be hosting a stage with live entertainment and there will be an African market, food stalls, roaming entertainment and lots of fun stuff for kids, showcasing communities from across the continent.
The Mayor organises and supports lots of different events to celebrate the many cultures and communities of London.
More information on this to follow.
We are seeking a partner to assist with the programme and content of the event and would like to hear from experienced organisers who have successfully delivered events which includes live entertainment, market and food stalls, fashion and children's activities, with a focus on diverse African cultures.
If this peaks your interest, and you'd like to know more about the proposal, please email [email protected] no later than Thursday 12 July. We will consider all responses received, and will advise applicants of the outcome in the week commencing 16 July.
To enhance our event, we're also looking for African-inspired caterers and non-food traders that will amplify on a high-class level the diverse African cultures that are represented across London and the UK.
The event will run from 12-6pm and trading will take place within these hours.
If you would like to know more and participate in this year's Africa on the Square as traders, please express your interest to [email protected] by Wednesday 15 August 2018.
