We desperately need the Mayor to support and to clean up our high streets and revive our shopping town centres, shop owners shopfronts and buildings need a makeover with with your input to Enfield Council it can help immensely as I and other residents in PG have not able to be heard.
Talking to shop owners they have told me that none of the Cllrs in the area pay a visit to the town centre nor do they interact with local businesses to how to improve the area, for nearly a decade and they feel unsupported, they say the only time they see Cllrs are when the election comes around, I do feel as a resident of Palmers Green for 48 years I have only seen the library revamped and cycle lanes built but that has been all since it has become a miserable poor state of affairs and we need to bring back the good quality shops and lower rents, plant more trees and put colorful flowers on lamp post to give a more welcoming feel so Londoners will shop more in local areas then cooped at home no interaction with others starting at a screen does not help in the long run.
We know cycle lanes are built to improve air pollution but since they were built only 1or 2 cyclist in a month have used them in Palmers Green, there is no point trying to improve one part and leaving the rest in ruins.
Europe has such wonderful bright welcoming shops and high streets and buildings, that is why Europeans are more cheerful and less depressed because even though they are also living in hardship more then us, there government still provides them with a beautiful community and you should take note from them and implement their way of life in the UK, sometimes we have to learn from others to better ourselves.
Cycle lanes have cost taxpayers a fortune that are not useable because Brits are not a health conscious nation in any form, people are still using their cars, you need to see the bigger picture and focus on our dying North London High streets.
Residents do deserve more.
