Modern Architecture in central London is becoming a very depressing sight, in fact their fancy names are more appealing then the actual buildings.
Grey steal and glass reflecting back to us our frequently grey weather. Our modern London Architecture will one day date and in decades to come it will be synonymously know for the the volatile times that we are currently living through.
These type of grey steal and glass buildings are a fashion in cities of other countries making all these cities (including London) looking much the same, dull and aggressive.
We in this country have a wealth of other natural material for architects to implement in their designs for London. Moreover, just as an example, a combination of material such our sweet mellow coloured Bath Stone together with Portland Stone, Stain Glass, Mosaic, coloured tiles. Then there is the windows, how about Arch or Circle Windows for a change.
Once Brexit is behind us, London will depend far more on tourism then ever before and our visitors actually expect to see a London that is uniquely British, therefore we need to stop copying the architecture of countries as it will not serve London well in the long term.
London needs sweetening up.
