I am appalled that Londoners like myself who work very hard who receive pittens from the NHS as a GP Receptionist/Secretary and my husband who works as a Night Assistant with no pay rises have to be forced to pay ridiculous amount of monthly Council Tax payments on top of all the other bills that Londoners are struggling to pay and this has put a lot of strain on individuals and families.
People are trying very hard to make ends meet to save or start a family and so forth without success, it can have a affect on ones health it can also put a strain on relationships and families.
I do feel strongly that Landlords who own properties and the land should be the ones made to pay for the council tax of the property and not shift the council tax on tenants who barely can afford to pay for their other bills, then the british government then wonders why there is so much homelessness in London not only from those coming from other countries who are arriving with so much of their own issues from their countries but more importantly from those who are born and bred in London we seem to be taken advantage and discriminated because we are made to feel intimidated that we cannot speak out as council tax is forced upon us and if we do not pay it can be a criminal act, so were left without any lead way a changed needs to be had for Landlords to pay for the council tax of their owned property.
As a council tax tenant myself my husband and I have been struggling for many years as low income earners it has put a strain on our shoulders so I have had to take more working hours just to make ends meet, as my (GP) employer is not willing to increase my pay only just by 10 pence phr, hourly pay £8.60. as they are using the 1% pay cap to their advantage and not giving more to their employees from what they are receiving from NHS England, we need to see a change in this unfair and unjust system that employers are allowed to do whatever they want and get away with it.
