I've recently seen the Quietways and Super highways disappear from TfL's website in favor of this new initiative.
The information isn't clear as to why the change, why they decided to merge two different schemes into one and what the future plans are. I hear the Mini-Hollands scheme has also been left in favor of this new scheme, but again no information is available on this. I checked Kingston council's website and they mentioned their own initiative, where various cycle routes have been built around the Borough.
I have since read here that there is a set of "Cycleway" standards, whatever that may be, and that all routes will be adapted to ensure they meet this standard and that the future plan is to replace the super highway and quietway with this new "mixed" scheme where only heavy traffic areas will be segregated, etc.
I guess my questions are:
does anyone actually know what the plans are;
what are these sets of standards;
what changes will be implemented;
and I guess more importantly when will the information be available on TfL's website? I mean, if this will take time, which is fair, at least leave the current information there so people have an idea of what is currently available (even if there are plans to "improve" on this).
