Adaptation and resilience

Forests and our food production system are inescapably intertwined.  In fact, agriculture is responsible for a staggering 70% of global deforestation.  Some of the world's biggest consumer brands have pledged to eliminate deforestation by 2020, primarily through the sustainable sourcing of four commodities most linked to forest destruction: soya, palm oil, paper and cattle. With just one year left to meet this target what actions have been taken? And why does it matter?

Forests and trees play a major role in slowing the pace of the climate crisis by capturing carbon and providing habitats for wildlife.  To celebrate the very first London Climate Action Week, South Pole and our partners will unpick the risks and opportunities that are driving organisations to tackle this global challenge. We will examine the inspiring action being taken across the board, including Nature-Based Solutions, net-positive impacts, sustainable supply chains, public awareness and much more.

Join our experts to understand how different organisations and companies are evolving their operations to halt and reverse forest destruction. And, what you can do as a consumer to support these efforts.
